Video released by the U.S. Coast Guard out of Air Station Astoria shows the rescue of a lost and injured German Shepherd that was found at Ecola State Park, Cannon Beach, Oregon.

According the U.S. Coast Guard, the dog had fallen 300 feet down a cliff and was injured on June 14, 2023. The area that the German Shepherd was found at could only be accessed by repelling down the cliff or by air. Choosing the second option, the dog was rescued via hoist and transported to a nearby veterinarian clinic to be treated for its injuries.

The dog is fine now, and has been returned to the owner.
