Kabul Protests After Pakistan Drone Strikes Support Taliban In Panjshir

Afghans took to the Kabul streets in protest after it was discovered that the Pakistan government was facilitating the Taliban in Panjshir with precision strikes and intelligence against the new Northern Alliance or National Resistance Force (NRF).

Panjshir was the only province to not fall in the 2021 Taliban offensive, and following the collapse of the Afghan government, key figures including Vice President Saleh, Ahmed Massoud, and several thousand Afghan commandos and patriots assembled in Panjshir to set up a resistance to the murderous Taliban.

Although the Taliban were better equipped and in much greater numbers the NRF held them at bay after several days of fighting. However, Twitter reports originating from Panjshir started suggesting Pakistan's involvement in delivering aerial intelligence as the gaps in the NRF's defenses were constantly known by the Taliban. Soon after that, Panjshiri social media accounts began reporting precision airstrikes on their positions, which killed at least one NRF general and one of Massoud's top aids.

The resulting protests were backed by notable Afghans including cricket player Rashid Khan. The hashtag #SanctionPakistan was a top trend on Twitter as Afghans call for Islambad to be held accountable for supporting the Taliban terror group now in oppressive rule over the country.
