Footage has emerged from the IL-76 transport plane crash that occurred in Mali on 23 September 2023. Various reports suggest the plane was linked to the Russian Wagner PMC, and the incident occurred one month to the day after Wagner leader Prigozhin was assassinated by the Russian government in a separate plane crash.

Based on the footage, the aircraft tried landing on the center of the runway, not giving itself enough room to stop. The plane continued to rapidly taxi past the airstrip and down a steep embankment. Seconds later a massive ball of fire erupted from the aircraft as the onboard fuel began to combust.

Based on the footage, it seems as "pilot error" may have been a factor in the mishap. There isn't a lot of visual evidence to suggest otherwise. Casualty figures regarding how many people were on board have not been released.
