Mexican cartel members uploaded to social media footage they recorded of a US helicopter crash that resulted in the death of two US National Guard soldiers and one US Border Patrol agent. A fourth passenger is hospitalized in critical condition. The service stated of the injured person hasn't been released, nor have the identities of those killed in the incident.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation. The incident occurred in the vicinity of La Grulla, a town along the Rio Grande River in the southernmost tip of Texas.
