Ukrainian Children Accidentally Discharge Discarded RPG in Kherson

Two young boys living in Kherson discovered a discarded RPG. Boys being boys, they picked it up and eventually accidentally discharged the weapon system. It does not appear that they were injured.

One of the unfortunate side effects of war is that weapon systems are often left abandoned. Everything from land mines to crew served weapon systems and tanks can be found on battlefields long after the Soldiers have already moved past the site of a battle.

In Kherson, we got a stark reminder of this today as two young Ukrainian boys discovered a discarded RPG that was still loaded. The boys, being young boys who have probably been exposed to movies and video games, decided to pick the item up and take it with them. Like any curious boy holding something they normally only see adults wielding, they started to mess with the buttons, toggles, and switches on the system. This inadvertently caused the weapon system to discharge, and the boys to run.

Fortunately, the footage lets us know that the boys weren't injured and it doesn't appear that anyone else was either. This is your friendly reminder to teach your kids to respect weapons.
