Russian Soldiers in Wildly Non-Uniform Equipment in Luhansk

Video posted to Telegram by a Russian Soldier shows a cluster of Russian troops in the Luhansk region wearing wildly non-uniform equipment as they wait at a release point for conditions to be set.

While it's unclear exactly what these Russian troops are waiting on, one thing above all else stands out. None of these troops look like the others. Professional military forces generally rely on uniformity to keep themselves moving. A standard issue of equipment makes the Soldier's load interchangeable, and it also prevents fratricide as all of the troops on one side look the same. In this unit, we're seeing a mishmash of equipment ranging from western-style helmets to cheaply made airsoft gear bought on wish.com.

It could be, since this video was recorded in Luhansk, that we're looking at under-equipped LPR troops and one of them just happens to be wearing a Russian flag, but that doesn't explain why this video would be released by a Russian Soldier.

There's definitely something off about the gear we're seeing in this video.
