Witness footage reportedly recorded in Konotop, west of Sumy, shows a Russian soldier brandishing hand grenades in each hand as a means to navigate through a crowd of angry Ukrainians.

Reports from the incident stated that the Russians were in the town negotiating the surrender of the city. Their terms were paraphrased as "surrender or we will level the city."
