Reports state that as the Givati Brigade located civilians and cleared a corridor to extract them, Hamas elements attacked the IDF soldiers from within the camp, resulting in the action presented here. The Givati soldiers are shown firing and throwing grenades into buildings to clear them. Weapons captured on-site are also showcased, as evidence of the Hamas activity within the camp. Tank activity and airstrikes on Hamas-held buildings are also shown. Despite the reported Hamas activity and evidence, directly engaging targets within a refugee camp is a bold move- while Israel cannot afford to let Hamas use such a place as a base of operations, even within context, this footage provides ample ammunition to Israel's detractors simply because of where it takes place.
