120mm Mortars Make Direct Hit on Russian Tank

Drone video from the Eastern front of Ukraine shows what appears to be a Russian T-80 being hit by 120mm mortar fire from Ukrainian positions.

One thing that's interesting to note about this video is that the drone actually captures the infantry supporting the T-80. This isn't something we've seen from the Russians out in the field. While we have seen them heavily supporting the tanks in urban environments like Mariupol and Severodnetsk, this is one of the first times that we've seen the Russian maneuvering their infantry to support their tanks on the more rural battlefields.

I expect we may see a drastic decline in the amount of 100 meter anti-tank rocket kills on Russian armor in the near future if this trend continues. Unfortunately for the Russians, this isn't going to do much about the ATGM kills against their armor since they aren't capable of fielding anything like an American combined anti-armor team to support their tanks. Still, this is a step in the right direction from a tactical point of view.
