A Russian Mi-14 (Haze) helicopter attempts a water takeoff to demonstrate its amphibious capabilities, but only succeeds in ripping itself apart.

The Mi-14 is a shore-based, nuclear-capable, amphibious, anti-submarine helicopter designed off the Mi-8. The Mi-14 differs from the Mi-8 in that it has a boat-like hull, allowing it to operate from the water, and it has retractable wheels and undercarriage. The aircraft has an internal weapons bay that allows it to carry a single torpedo or eight depth charges. It is also fitted with a search radar.
