Video: Ugandan Troops Open Fire On Civilians

Ugandan police and soldiers have been mobilized to heavily crack down on protests following the arrest of presidential candidate, pop star Bobi Wine.


At least 37 people have been killed by government forces in the past few days. The current president, Yoweri Museveni, who has ruled Uganda since 1986 is using coronavirus as a reason to heavy-handedly crack down on his political rival. Bobi Wine was arrested for holding mass rallies during the pandemic. Wine's followers took to the street in protest.


Civilian-shot videos circulating on social media show government troops firing live rounds at civilians who aren't even participating in the protests, and indiscriminately beating people.
