Video: Thousands Partake In Cuban Anti Socialism Protests

Published July 14, 2021

At high risk of government retribution, thousands of Cubans have taken to the streets to protest the failure of their communist government.

The protestors chanted "Freedom" and "down with the dictator" as they assembled in the streets. Protests have not just been isolated to Havana, but across much of Cuba as well. Security officials are reportedly beating, pepper spraying, and arresting the protestors, as Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel called on anyone who will listen to fight and silence the demonstrators. In an attempt to stifle outgoing information, the Cuban government is shutting down the state-controlled internet.

As a socialist nation, Cuba's government holds total control over all industry and services, so the people are justified in directing their anger of being without money, food, or medicine toward the responsible regime.

The Cuban president denounced the uprising, claiming the protestors are nothing more than mercenaries hired by the US.
