Ukrainian Soldiers Rush Area Being Prepped by Rocket Barrage

This short clip depicts what appears to be a Ukrainian soldier in a vehicle, moving at a high rate of speed toward an area that is being worked over by two Mi-8 helicopters (Nato Designator: HIP).

The helicopters are attacking in a style that is indicative of the air doctrine in the Russia-Ukraine war, hugging the earth and pitching up to fire while flaring. As previously discussed in other Mi-8 footage, this technique provides the most protection to the helicopters while increasing the range of the rockets. These S-8 rockets are unguided.

Despite the harrowing nature of this conflict, which ongoing coverage has documented, I hope booking it down a road while air assets do their thing above and before him gives this soldier a memory to grin about later on. It’s one of those things that is objectively cool.
