Footage from early in the Ukraine War shows Ukrainian service members manning a checkpoint when they come under accurate main battle tank fire from Russian-backed separatist forces.

The Ukrainian soldiers can only lay flat as three tank rounds demolish their checkpoint position. Dirt, debris, and deadly shrapnel fills the air around them. The exact date and location of the footage is unknown. Context accompanying the video submission suggests that those in the tank were members of the VSN, or Novorossiya Armed Forces (NAF), a term given to the Russian proxy fighters of the Donbas People's Militia and the Luhansk People's Militia.
