In the video surveillance footage, two individuals later identified as 21-year-old De’andre Malik Thomas (Red) and 25-year-old Kareem Mano (Black) can be seen having a heated dispute which led to a shooting. Both men met in a parking lot outside the USA Grocery Store on Rocky Creek Road in Macon Georgia to discuss a cell phone transaction.

Moments after the conversation began, Mano can be seen brandishing a TEC-9 and becoming aggressive toward Thomas. After the two continue arguing, Mano eventually puts his firearm back into his waistband but does not let up on the argument. Mano who is still aggressively confronting Thomas begins pushing his shoulder into Thomas. Being fed up with the aggression, Thomas pulls a firearm from his pants and begins firing at Mano, striking him multiple times.

Mano and Thomas began fleeing the area, but as Mano runs away he can be seen in the background of the footage collapsing. Mano was later pronounced dead due to his gun inflicted injuries. As for Thomas, he was sentenced to twenty-years.
