A Syrian soldier candidly filmed a confrontation between Syrian government troops and US soldiers at a checkpoint in Hasake province.

Unit patches suggest the US soldiers appear to be members of the US Army's 4th Infantry Division. They were likely on a predetermined route conducting a presence and security patrol when they unexpectedly happed upon the Syrian checkpoint.

Apparently the Syrian forces told the Americans they were not able to pass, and although the US troops could erase them from existence, they kindly obliged, remounted their vehicles and chose an alternate route. Confrontations like this are common between between the US soldiers and Russian and Syrian units. They often end with deescalation and no significant incidents. However, some videos have shown US troops in full-contact armored vehicle races with the Russians, and US troops opening fire on Syrian positions.
