Suspect Killed in 100 MPH Car Wreck While Attempting To Flee Police

On March 17, 2021 officers from Royal Oak Police Department engaged in a high speed chase which led to 18-year-old suspects death.


At around 1:45 a.m., Royal Oak officers spotted a vehicle speeding that had no license plates. When the officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the suspect increased his speed upward of 100 mph.


The dashcam footage provided displays the incident that occurred that night. After roughly three minutes of a high speed chase, the suspect lost control of their car and slammed driver side first into a light pole.


The suspect was later identified as Souhib Zokari. Zokari was taken to William Beaumont Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. As of recent, officers of the Oakland County Sheriffs Office and Royal Oak officials are investigating the crash.
