Traffic cameras recorded a July 15, 2023 incident in which Gulf Cartel members tailed and then opened fire on a State Guard vehicle resulting in the crash of the police vehicle and the deaths of two State Guards in Reynosa.

The Sicario's black Toyota Tacoma can be seen following the police vehicle before pulling up alongside and opening fire. The police vehicle goes out of control, crashes and rolls. The criminal gang vehicle rapidly exits the area.
