Self Inflicted Gun Shot Caught On Camera, After Man Attempts To Shoot Up Airport

San Antonio Police Department released the video surveillance footage of the incident that occurred on April 15, 2021 when suspect Joe Gomez opened fire on by-standers at the San Antonio Airport.


The footage provided shows Gomez driving down the incorrect side of the road, where he soon exited his vehicle and begins unloading his firearm. After emptying his first magazine, Gomez reaches into the driver side of his car, grabbing another magazine and reloading. As he begins emptying a second magazine, Gomez is struck by a security guards firearm.


Gomez immediately runs and takes cover in his vehicle, but only for a brief moment. Gomez exits the vehicle one last time, kneels down and executes himself. Gomez was taken to a local hospital where Bexar County Medical Examiner determined his cause of death from his self-inflicted gun shot.


No by-standers or security officers at the airport were seriously injured.
