(NSFW) San Diego Cop Drops Hostage Taker With Shotgun Blast To The Face

Police helicopter and body worn camera footage shows a police officer end a deadly murder and hostage situation by dropping the assailant with a shotgun blast to the face.

The event occurred in San Diego, California in November 2016. According to the reports, police responded to the City Heights neighborhood after a man had shot four people. The suspect, Juan Carlos Fernandez, showed up at his ex wife’s house although she had a active restraining order against him.

As part of the restraining order, Fernandez was legally barred from owning, possessing or buying firearms.

Fernandez shot four people including his ex wife, her parents, and her grandfather. Both of her parents were killed in the shooting.

When the police arrived, Fernandez was using his wounded ex wife as a human shield out in the street. The officers acted quickly, telling the suspect to get on the ground. He didn’t comply.

Knowing that Fernandez had already shot multiple people, the responding officer cut the negotiations short. While standing only a few feet from the suspect, the lead officer found an opening and took the shot.

The video is a combination of police helicopter thermal footage as well as two different police body worn camera clips that gives the viewer an idea of how the event unfolded.
