Footage out of Syria shows Russian special operations troops carrying out anti tank guided missile (ATGM) attacks against anti Assad rebel groups.

Reportedly, some of the footage shows the use of BAS-01G Soratnik Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV), on which various ATGMs (and other weapons systems) can be mounted.

Prior to September 2015, Russian involvement in Syria was limited to the supply of weapons and equipment. Once Russia deployed special operations troops and air power for the Syrian regime, the SAA began taking serious ground from opposition groups. However, the toll of civilian casualties has been astronomical.
