Remastered Vietnam War Footage Of Artillerymen In Action

Remastered, stabilized footage recovered from a film roll shows US artillerymen, mainly of the 101st Airborne, rapidly sending rounds down range in support of infantrymen in contact with the North Vietnamese Army.

The soldiers are operating the M102 light, towable 105mm howitzer. The M102 was used in the Vietnam War, the Invasion of Grenada, the Gulf War, and it even saw service in Operation Iraqi Freedom. It has since been replaced by the M119 howitzer.

Interestingly, the M102 is still used today on the various AC-130 gunships.
