Rebel Destroys Damaged Tank with Hand Grenade

Rebel fighters from the Free Syrian Army utilize a hand grenade to finish of a damage tank, proving once again that troops on the ground are the most dangerous thing a tank can fight.

When you think of a tank, you generally think of an armored behemoth roaming the battlefield, invincible to any weapon system that it might face. That's not the case at all however. Tanks are incredibly vulnerable to infantry attacks, especially in densely packed urban areas where the blind spots of the tank become its greatest weakness. A tank without infantry support in an urban environment is just asking for something bad to happen to it, and in this video we get to see it first hand.

It's worth noting that the tank in question here is a relic. It's been damaged by anti-tank weapons, and is sitting completely in the open with enemy troops around it. There's a high likelihood that there isn't even any Syrian Arab Army troops inside of it, as they most likely bailed out of the tank as soon as it was disabled. Even still, all it takes to fully destroy this tank is a single hand grenade dropped down the barrel by a light-fighter with the gusto to give it a go.
