Video from the early days of the war in eastern Ukraine shows pro Russian militants engaged in a gun battle with Ukrainian troops in an undetermined residential area.

Incoming rifle rounds and an occasional RPG whistle through the air over the proxy fighters. Suddenly, some sort of artillery round or heavy rocket thunders overhead, sending the fighters scrambling for cover.

The "War in Donbass" is now in its seventh year and gone are the days of open street fighting and force on force infantry and tank battles. The fight now consists of a trench stalemate with flareups of artillery and sniper fire.

Recently, Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy pledged to retake the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula and has asked the international community to support that endeavor.
