Witness video shows a deadly police shootout in the vicinity of Las Cruces, New Mexico as officers chased down a man who had just allegedly killed a cop on Feb. 4, 2021.

The suspect vehicle, a white pickup truck driven by Omar Felix Cueva, comes flying into frame backwards as pursuing officers just performed a PIT Maneuver, sending the truck into a spin. The truck comes to a halt, and Cueva immediately steps out of the vehicle firing at the officers. A short, close-range gun battle ensues, and Cueva was killed at the scene.

Reports indicate that Cueva had just shot and killed NMSP officer Darian Jarrott during a drug-related traffic stop. Jarrott was the father of three with a fourth child on the way. Another officer was shot during the incident, but was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
