Philippine Army Raids Communist NPA Militant Jungle Camp

A video filmed by a soldier in the Philippine Army shows a raid against an NPA communist rebel jungle camp. The footage demonstrates the horrible set of conditions that is jungle warfare. Heat, humidity, and extremely limited visibility due to the dense foliage. One could imagine how easily friendly fire or fratricide could become an issue in such a disorienting environment.

The communist New People's Army (NPA) has been waging an insurgency against the Philippines' government for 50 years. The insurgent group is active in 73 of the Philippines' 81 provinces. It has been designated a foreign terror organization by both the US and EU.
