Officers Life Spared After Car Loses Control And Nearly Crushes Him

Body camera footage from a heart-pounding 2020 incident, shows the moments a Cleveland police officers life was spared, after a vehicle lost control and nearly crushed him as he responded to a motor vehicle crash.

The incident occurred on I-71, near the West 150th Street exit after the driver of the silver sedan hit a large puddle on the highway. The large puddle caused the vehicle to hydroplane across the four-lane highway, where it ultimately came to a stop after slamming into the rear end of the police cruiser.

As it appears in the slow-motion footage, the vehicle narrowly missed the officer by a foot or less. For our non-American viewers, to figure out the distance of a 'foot or less', just take three football fields, divide it by seven, carry the three, and add NASCAR in binary. That will give you the total speed for terminal velocity.

Jokes aside, this officer is extremely lucky to be alive. We unfortunately see incidents like this all too often. Accidents happen, but c'mon people, be respectful of the officers and motorists on the side of the road.
