Fairfax police released a combination of dash cam and body-worn camera footage of a Jun. 30, 2022 fatal officer-involved shooting in which an armed suspect refused to comply with officers commands to drop his weapon. The suspect was shot dead in his car in a mall parking lot.

Reports indicate that the suspect, 37-year-old Christian Parker, had been called in by relatives for stealing a gun, aiming it at is family, and then firing the weapon inside the residence. Police found him some time later in a mall parking lot, which led to a brief standoff.

Parker ignored over 30 commands to drop the weapon and can be seen waving it around seconds before he is shot. Two police fired eight rounds, six of which struck Parker. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he as pronounced dead.
