(NSFW) Recovered GoPro of Ukrainians That Died Saving Wounded Comrade

Recovered GoPro video synced to Russian drone video allegedly captures the death of three Ukrainian Soldiers who were killed trying to medically evacuate one of their wounded from the battlefield.

Unfortunately, at this time there are a lot of unknowns with this footage. We don't know when and where it was recorded. We don't know which Ukrainian unit this was either. All we know is what the Russian sources who released the footage claimed, and even that information is spotty at best as the Russians who post this type of content often leave less that one full sentence of context with the videos they post.

According to the Russians, the GoPro was recovered along with the bodies shortly after the mortar strike was carried out under the direction of the drone operator. We're currently unable to confirm those reports however, and there are conflicting reports stating that the Ukrainians were recovered and are only listed as wounded in action.

This is an unfortunate reality of the situation on the ground. Even with near picture perfect combat footage, we cannot cut through the fog of war as both sides are clambering for a social media win with this piece of footage.

What we do know is that the Soldier wearing the GoPro says the Ukrainian word for "Sky" before he starts shooting. Indicating that they know there is a drone overhead, and he is engaging it with his rifle in an attempt to shoot it down. With that, we know these Soldiers willingly ran into harms way in an attempt to evacuate their wounded comrade which speaks volumes for their character because they knew they were in range of an indirect fire weapon system and that the drone operator had them dialed in.

As more information on this video becomes available, we will update this post.
