(NSFW) Phoenix Arizona Cops Drop Fleeing Sexual Assault Suspect

This compilation of recorded 911 call and bodycam footage of responding officers captures the incident wherein 35-year-old Edward Brown pointed a gun at Phoenix police while trying to flee, after committing sexual assault among other crimes. Due to Brown being shot in the course of these events, as well as the nature of the crime, viewer discretion is advised.

The video begins with the victim's daughter calling 911. She describes Brown holding her mother hostage. As the bodycam footage begins at 0:22, we see Brown fire at the police officers from a window at the back of the home. The officer from whose perspective we are viewing returns fire. On the other side of the home, another officer can be heard firing.

The footage switches to that officer's perspective at 0:51. As his partner holds the front door, he moves to the back of the house via the carport, on the other side of the structure from the first officers shown. There, he first spots Brown at 01:09, taking a snap shot as the suspect runs by a doorway. He continues to engage Brown as he tries to flee, downing him at 01:16. At 01:22, Brown's handgun is located, out of ammunition and in lockback.

Brown survived his wounds and was taken to an area hospital, whereupon he was booked into jail after release. He has since been indicted for burglary, aggravated and sexual assault, as well as kidnapping. The victim was also transported to a hospital and received care.
