(NSFW) Man Beat His Girlfriend Over Baseball Game, Ends Up Pulling Knife On Cops

On September 19th, 2021, two Chicago police officers responded to the 6500 block on South Harvard Avenue, after a reported domestic violence incident occurred. At around 11:00 a.m., the officers arrived at the residence, where they were greeted by the victim of the domestic abuse.

As the victim explained the story, she stated her boyfriend, later identified as 28-year-old Turell Brown, became irate while watching the Chicago Cubs game, where he then began slamming objects on the counter. The girlfriend reportedly told Brown to stop, where he then began punching her repeatedly. Ultimately, Brown pulled a knife on his girlfriend, further escalating her fear, where she then called 911.

While making contact with the girlfriend, she notified officers that Brown was still armed with his knife in the back room of the home. As one officer began moving toward the rear of the home, Brown exited a side room and began approaching the officer. Stepping back into the hallway, the officer drew his firearm and maintained distance between Brown, but also provided cover for the female victim.

Brown, now in the doorway can still be seen with the knife in his hand. Brown continued to tell the officers to put their guns away and to go away. Still maintaining his position, the officer continued to prevent Brown from getting closer to the female victim. As both officers commanded Brown multiple times to drop the knife, he continued to ignore them. In a desperate attempt to make the officers leave, Brown slowly slid his arm toward the door to shut it, however one responding officer prevented that by using lethal force. Three shots were discharged from the officers service weapon.

Wounded, Brown ran into the other room, dropping the knife in the doorway. A few seconds later, Brown reemerged and soon collapsed. Responding officers isolated the knife away from Brown and immediately began chest compressions and other life-saving medical aid. Brown was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
