(NSFW) Suspect Shot and Killed After Pointing Gun at K9 and Officers

On April 1, 2021 officers of the Fremont Police department conducted an undercover operation, in an attempt to safely detain their suspect, Steven Moseley.

Moseley was wanted on multiple felony charges such as brandishing an illegal firearm, owning an illegal firearm and the illegal distribution of drugs. Days prior, officers of the Fremont Department located Moseley's vehicle outside the Hyatt Place Hotel located at 3101 West Warren Avenue, Fremont, California.

Undercover officers had arrived the day of the officer involved shooting in an attempt to locate Moseley's room, but were unsuccessful. Instead, officers decided to try and arrest Moseley when he exited the building to enter his vehicle.

The footage shows Moseley walking into the lobby of the hotel, when he begins running out the door. Reports state Moseley had spotted one of the undercover officers vehicle and attempted to flee. As Moseley began fleeing, nine responding officers began in a foot/car chase.

One K-9 unit was present at the scene, which was released during the chase to assist in stopping Moseley. Making it less than a block, Moseley and the K-9 unit can be seen wrestling on the ground. Multiple officers surround the two with weapons drawn. As the K-9 and Moseley are fumbling around on the ground, one officer spots a firearm. Moseley had drew his weapon and began aiming it at by-standing officers.

After a few moments, two officers began taking precise shots at Moseley, striking him multiple times before he could do any harm to the K-9 or other officers.

Moseley was treated on scene by responding officers until medical transport arrived, but the suspect later succumbed to his wounds.
