(NSFW) Filmmaker Killed After Getting Caught In Police Crossfire With Armed Man

Older footage (new to some) from an incident that occurred in 2014, shows an intense close quarter engagement between Omaha police officers and a robbery suspect, that left an innocent filmmaker from the show "Cops", dead.

On the night of August 26th, 2014, Omaha police officers were dispatched to a local Wendy's, after receiving reports of an armed robbery taking place. Upon arriving in the area, individuals were seen running from the restaurant. In response, officers and the film team exited the cruiser and headed directly into building.

Almost immediately after entering the building, officers began exchanging rounds with the armed suspect in a very close quartered manner. After a few shots went off, the suspect, Cortez Washington, made a break for the door, where an Omaha officer began unloading on him. Unfortunately, caught in the cross-fire was audio technician Bryce Dion, who was fatally struck. Additionally, Washington made it out into the parking lot of the restaurant, however soon collapsed. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

After a further investigation, it was confirmed Dion had been struck by officer gunfire. He sustained a single gunshot inflicted injury, where he immediately collapsed in the doorway. Dion is remembered by his colleagues as a very talented and dedicated person.
