(NSFW) Russian Ambush On Ukrainian Checkpoint Hits Dog, Misses Troops

Additional footage was just released showing a brutal ambush by Russian Spetsnaz against Ukrainian troops standing at a checkpoint. They even killed the dog.

This video, which comes just one day after Spetsnaz forces released footage of an ambush against a Ukrainian foot patrol, shows the Russian operators conducting an ambush against a checkpoint manned by Ukrainian ground troops. The footage itself is brutal, but this is the nature of war and it's also ultimately the reason this project exists in the first place.

When conducting an ambush, the objective is always to catch your opponent flat-footed, and to deal as much damage as possible in the opening salvos of the attack. When ambushed, there is only two possible responses. The first response is what we see happening here with the Ukrainian forces in this short clip. Immediately maneuver to a position of cover and try to regain your position so that you can engage the enemy. The second response is to immediately turn into the ambush and lay down a withering base of fire while advancing on your enemy directly. In the second option, you do exactly the opposite of what the enemy expects and can cause them to lose the initiative in the gunfight if you're able to gain fire superiority.

This ten second clip is wild, and incredibly reminiscent of the Spetsnaz footage released during the Syrian conflict.
