(NSFW) Armed Suspect Road Rages With Officer, Refuses To Pull Over And Gets Shot

Footage released by the NYPD shows the moments two officers shot and killed a 65-year-old man who drew a C02 pistol on them after a high-speed chase.

On November 11th, 2021, an NYPD Highway Patrol officer observed a speeding gray Jeep Cherokee on the Belt Parkway near Bay 8th Street. As the officer conducted a traffic stop, the driver almost immediately fled the scene, where a vehicle chase ensued. During the pursuit, the officer made several attempts to block the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. At some point during the pursuit, the officer managed to accelerate infront of the suspect and block him; however instead of ending the chase, the driver slammed into the rear-end of the cruiser.

A short while after the initial pursuit began, an additional highway patrol officer joined the chase, where the two officers collectively stopped the crazed driver near the Bay Parkway Avenue entrance. With two officers blocking the proceeding roadway, and civilian traffic blocking the rear, the suspect exited his vehicle, with what appeared to be a handgun.

Fearing for their lives, officers attempted to de-escalate the situation; however the suspect continued advancing toward the officers In response, both officers fired several shots, striking the man and neutralizing him. The suspect was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. During a later investigation, police determined the weapon to be a C02 pistol.
