(NSFW) Noncompliant Woman Shoots Nashville Cop And Gets Shot In Return

A combination of dash cam and body worn camera footage shows a traffic stop turn deadly as a woman opens fire on a Nashville police officer and getting shot and mortally wounded in return. The incident happened on Mar. 12, 2021.

According to the reports, Metro Nashville Police Department officer Josh Baker, a 14-year veteran of the force, identified a vehicle belonging to a person wanted on six outstanding warrants. As Baker made contact with the driver, he realized it wasn't the wanted man, but a woman, Nika Nicole Holbert, 31, who was operating the vehicle without a valid drivers license.

Baker quickly noticed what appeared to be drugs in Holbert's bag and that is when she attempted to get back into her vehicle and escape. Holbert ignored every command given, and Baker even unsuccessfully attempted to tase her into compliance.

At that point, Holbert quickly produced a firearm and shot officer Baker, and he returned fire and hit Holbert. Holbert, wounded, dropped her gun outside of the vehicle and quickly fled the scene in the automobile. She crashed the vehicle a short distance away and was taken to a hospital where she died of her injuries.

Baker, who was hit in the torso, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and received same-day surgery. He will survive his injuries.
