The troops are unable to gain fire superiority and are few in numbers on a remote outpost, which makes it impossible maneuver on the enemy. Instead, they call in artillery fire from a larger nearby base. They are able to "walk the rounds onto target" by relaying corrections over the radio to the artillery team.
