Nigerian Soldiers Dominate Boko Haram in a Gunfight

Published Aug. 22, 2021

Members of the Nigerian Military find themselves in an extremely dominant position after a nearly hour long gun battle with Boko Haram. This is the video that was published.

You know what? I'm proud of these guys. Point blank and period. The Nigerians deserve this win, and I'm super happy that the guy managed to pull out his cellphone and record this video. What we're seeing here is a platoon-sized element of Nigerian Soldiers who have been in contact with Boko Haram for about an hour. I'm not sure what happened prior to the recording of this video, but I'm guessing they got some form of air support or accurate artillery fire that put Boko Haram on the backfoot.

Whatever it was, the unit leader recognized his opportunity, and did exactly what a good infantry leader would do. He picked up his rifle, nutted up through the fear, and told his men to follow him. Then, they all closed with the enemy and destroyed them through close combat and fire and maneuver. This is text book, and I'm super proud of these men for taking the fight directly to Boko Haram.
