On May 3, 2021 KIA Rebels claim to have shot down a Myanmar Air Force Mi-35M attack helicopter. In the effort to expand its military, in 2009 the Myanmar Air Force ordered ten Mi-35M. The helicopter seen in the footage is the first of those ten to be taken out by KIA Rebels.

The ongoing conflicts between the Myanmar military and KIA Rebels has been relentless as the Myanmar military attempts to suppress the voices of its civilians. With the KIA Rebels taking credit for the destruction of this Mi-35M, it has added and entirely new dimension to the failure of the Myanmar military and the resistance the KIA Rebels have inflicted upon their suppression.
