A video out of Burma reportedly shows the deadly Aug. 15, 2019 insurgent attack against the Myanmar military’s Defense Services Technological Academy (DSTA)

The raid was a joint operation carried out by members of three ethnic armed groups; the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), Arakan Army (AA,) and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA).

One civilian was killed in the attack and one soldier was wounded.

There are multiple separate civil wars that have simmered in Burma since the diverse nation gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1948. The various insurgencies and their reasoning vary greatly from state to state, but in general, focus on the Burmese government's heinous suppression of the differing ethnic groups. They ban languages and religious practices all while extracting resources from the politically unrepresented people's territories.
