The Dearborn, Michigan Police Department released security footage of a deadly Dec. 18, 2022 shooting in which a mentally ill man tried killing officers inside the police station, but was instead shot dead.

The video release comes as Wayne County prosecutors decided not to file charges against the responding officer. According to the report, 31-year-old Ali Naji stole a gun from his former place of employment, drove his vehicle to the police station, and then attempted to murder the cop on duty.

Fortunately, the weapon didn't function properly and Naji can be seen performing immediate action to make the pistol fire. The officer on duty neutralized the situation by firing several shots into Naji. Naji, a diagnosed Schizophrenic, died of his injuries.
