Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) footage from June 12, 2022 shows officers responding to an armed robbery and eventually having a standoff with the suspect who is armed with a knife.

According to the report, the suspect robbed a local business, but was quickly entrapped in a parking lot by the police. The man ignores commands to drop the knife and it was decided to deploy a 40mm less lethal round. He takes the rubber slug to the chest, but wears it like a champ. Immediately following the less lethal deployment, the suspect charges the cops, at which point one of the officers fires his duty weapon.

Although the officer didn't hit the suspect, it caused the suspect to retreat back several feet and return to pacing angrily. Eventually the suspect was taken into custody.
