Published Feb. 20, 2021

The following footage documents an officer-involved-shooting incident with the Los Angeles Police Department's Southeast Division on October 14, 2020.

From the footage and accompanying audio analysis we can see citizens loitering in vehicles in a parking lot when an armed man approaches, pointing a gun at them.

Fortunately for the targeted civilians, a police patrol was passing by. The officers quickly analyzed the situation and moved to intervene. They quickly exited the cruiser with their guns drawn, commanding the suspect to drop his weapon. One of the responding officers realized the situation could only get worse if he didn't act immediately and fired on the suspect, hitting him.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Kevin Carr, quickly retreated to cover behind his victim's car and was later pronounced dead at the scene. No officers or innocent bystanders were injured during the incident.
