IZLID: Lightsaber Of Doom Paints Terror Targets For Obliteration

Video reportedly from Mosul in 2004 shows US ground troops "painting" enemy targets using a B.E. Meyers IZLID infrared laser illuminator while a Cobra gunship pounds the designated area.

IR lasers have become a staple in modern combat. The lasers allow for troops to discretely point out areas of interest to fellow soldiers. IR lasers are also fitted on most infantry troops' primary weapon systems which are used to aim in low light situations, and the beams can usually only be seen with night vision optics.
