Footage coming out of Nigeria that was released by ISWAP captures the moment they freed over 1,000 ISWAP prisoners including 65 of their commanders from the Abuja government prison.

For those of you who are out of the loop, the government of NIgeria has been fighting an internal conflict with the Islamic State for quite some time now. The Islamic State faction there is calling themselves ISWAP, which is an acronym meaning Islamic State in West African Provinces, and Nigeria has been leading the fight against them.

This footage marks a major turn for the worst for the Nigerian government however, as the Abuja government prison is located inside of the city of Abuja which is the 8th most populous city in all of Nigeria and also the capital. According to local reports, ISWAP has released over 1,000 ISWAP fighters from the facility, including 65 of their commanders who will now be back on the battlefield coordinating attacks against Nigerian forces.
