Funker530 Partner Showcase: Versacarry Hybrid IWB Holster

The Comfort Flex Deluxe - Versacarry

Versacarry sent us over a Comfort Flex Deluxe to showcase for you, and I was honestly pleasantly surprised with it. Versacarry is another one of our partners that is helping drive the changes to the site, allowing us to bring on new veterans to help with the day-to-day, keep the content rolling, and is a brand that has been around for a long time. Strap in, this holster is pretty good.

Jumping right in, I’ve always loved the feel of leather, but you typically lose the retention properties that you’ll get with a kydex holster. That’s where the CFD comes in. It’s a Water Buffalo leather and polymer hybrid that bridges the gap between a traditional leather holsters, and the newer kydex trigger guard retention holsters out there.

For retention, the draw retention screw works as intended to collapse the polymer internals around your firearm. It’s a pressure retention system, but it holds up pretty sturdy.

The versatility of this holster is where it gets really good. A lot of Kydex holsters will only fit the specific platform that you purchase it for. The four sizes of the CFD (one specific to the P365) allow for mixing and matching the holsters to your different smoke wagons.

From a comfort perspective, it definitely hits the mark. The leather doesn’t touch my body, rather a padded backing material that goes all the way up the slide on my G19. This is a single-use-type holster for me, as I like to ride a right-handed holster in my truck (most of you are aware that I’m a lefty). I have misguided fears of needing to draw drivers side as a lefty and that just feels weird. Literally zero reason to have that fear, I just do. So I wear a right-handed holster in a vehicle, and I train with it.

The price point is good, too. It sits at just a bit lower than a lot of the full-kydex options that are out there, but you still get the high-quality leather feel of your holster along with some of those kydex features. The comfort flex deluxe is a great option for you if you’re looking for versatility (heh…Versacarry), something a bit more traditional, and still want to have more modern retention capabilities.
