First Person Perspective of MK153 SMAW Rocket Shoot

This video is an ode to a dead military occupational specialty. The Marine Corps will forever miss the 0351 Assaultmen, eaters of danger play-doh, and carriers of the MK153 SMAW.

The MOS 0351 is long gone by now. It was the military occupational specialty of the Infantry Assaulment. The great thing about having assaultmen around in your line company was that it was a company level asset capable of bringing explosives and rockets to the fight. Sadly, as the Marine Corps evolved, the need for the 0351 MOS was slowly degraded and diminished. Combat Engineers brought more versatility and capability in terms of explosives and heavy equipment operations, and systems like the AT-4, LAW, and Carl Gustav made the MK153 SMAW a less important weapon system in the hands of the line company.

If you're on active duty now, I'd love to hear from you down in the comments section. How is the Marine Corps doing now that they've fully phased out the 0351 MOS? Have things changed all that much, and if so did it change for the better or worse? I want to know, because personally, I always had a hard time imagining the Marine Corps Infantry Company without the capabilities of the Assault section.
