First Glimpse at Andrew Brown Jr. Body Cam Footage

Today, May 18, 2021 the Pasquotank District Attorney officially released body camera footage of the justified shooting of Andrew Brown Jr. On April 21, 2021 officers from Pasquotank county attempted to serve Brown a drug-related search warrant.

When officers arrived at Browns residence, Brown had entered a vehicle as soon as officers exited the back of their truck. In an attempt to flee, Brown drove his car straight at officers in what seemed to be an attempt to harm them.

Out of fear for their life, the officers began firing handguns and AR's at Browns vehicle as he sped away. Reports and forensic evidence have determined that when Brown attempted to flee, one of the rounds fired into the vehicle had ricocheted multiple times, where it then struck Brown in the skull.

Brown was provided medical attention on the scene but was pronounced deceased. After a month long investigation, the DA determined there was justification in the shooting. There are two officers body camera footage that was not released due to them not turning on their body worn cameras before arriving at the scene.
