An incident which occurred on March 18th, 2021, left a Ramsey County Deputy severely injured, after a suspect driving a stolen vehicle led deputies on a high speed chase, exceeding speeds of 100 mph.

In the early morning hours of March 18th, Ramsey County deputies were dispatched to further aid an additional law enforcement agency, after a career criminal had stolen a vehicle. As the pursuit continued through the early morning hours, responding deputies and the suspect reportedly reached extremely unsafe speeds. During the chase, one deputies vehicle was hit by the fleeing suspect, further causing the deputy to lose control of his cruiser and crash.

The footage provided shows the moments responding deputies rescued another deputy from his burning vehicle. Luckily, the air bags within the cruiser reduced the blunt force of the crash and saved this deputies life. The deputy as a result suffered a broken kneecap, broken toe, fractured ribs, a bruised lung and a head injury.
