Video from December 2020 shows Las Vegas Metro Police responding to a residential burglary in progress and then fatally shooting a man attempting to assault the homeowner with a hammer.

As the police enter the residence, the burglar, Nathaniel Sironen, 40, attempted to strike the homeowner and possibly use him as a hostage. The police acted quickly and shot Sironen multiple times. He died at the scene.
